AmyNAN: Amy Funk
Host School: Portland State University
Major: Graduate Student, Higher Education and Student Affairs
Why I wanted to serve as the National Associate for NRHH: I wanted to serve as the NAN because of my love I have for NRHH and what the four pillars do for a campus. I have been a member of NRHH for six years, and I felt it was time to give back to an organization that has given me so much over the years.   NRHH is a special organization that is leaving footprints on campuses across the world.  If you have questions, please contact me! I would love to share my knowledge with you.

Why I wanted the AD-NRHH Why I wanted the AD-NRHH position: I became a part of my host institution’s NRHH chapter in the first semester of my second year. Since then, I’ve been diamond crazy! After I saw how amazing the Honorary was, I knew that I wanted to help CAACURH’s NRHH chapters recognize, serve, lead, and learn better. I’m passionate about NRHH being a way for the top 1% of student leaders living on campus to continue developing their skills based on the four pillars. Pillar power!
Random Fun fact: I love to quilt, knit, crochet, embroider, and scrapbook!

What I wanted the AD-NRHH position: It sounds dorky when you say that the pillars are what you most highly value in your life but for me it’s true. Academic pursuits challenge me (in a good way), service helps me to realize the world is a whole lot bigger than the bubble I live in, recognition brings realization that little things really can make a difference, and leadership, well I don’t know what my life would be like without it. My love for each of the four pillars, combined with my desire to help others learn to love them as much as I do is why I decided to bid for AD-NRHH. Diamond love is something special and I want to spread it across NACURH!
Random fun Fact: I can say the alphabet backwards in under 5 seconds!

Why you wanted the AD of NRHH position?  I wanted to be the AD of Outreach for the NIC because it gave me a chance to work fantastic individuals on the NACURH level in making an impact on NACURH and its member schools. I specifically was interested in the NRHH aspect of NACURH because the pillars it stands for—Leadership, Recognition, Scholastics, Community Service. I believe they are not only important aspects of character and worthy of recognition, but also great standards with which we can uphold ourselves.
